These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the services provided by Hidden Skills LLC ("Hidden Skills," "we," "us," or "our"), including our website at hiddenskills.net, our skill reports, and our text-message program. By using our services or receiving our messages, you agree to these Terms.
1. Description of Service
Hidden Skills provides a tool that surfaces and names the durable skills students are already building through their participation in programs run by schools and education organizations. Students submit audio reflections, and Hidden Skills produces a personalized skill report for each student and delivers it through a secure link.
2. How the Service Is Accessed
Our services are provided through partner organizations, such as schools and education nonprofits, that enroll students in their programs. The partner organization decides which students participate and collects the contact information and consent needed for us to deliver reports and messages. Where a student is under 18, a parent, guardian, or the partner organization provides that consent.
3. Text Message (SMS) Terms
If you provide a phone number and agree to receive text messages, you consent to receive recurring messages from Hidden Skills related to your participation in your program. These messages include a secure link to your skill report, a short reflection question, a due date for your next reflection, and occasional reminders.
Message frequency varies and depends on the program and your activity. Message and data rates may apply, and these are charged by your mobile carrier, not by Hidden Skills.
You may reply STOP at any time to opt out and stop receiving messages. You may reply HELP for assistance, or contact us at privacy@hiddenskills.net.
We do not sell or share mobile phone numbers or SMS opt-in consent with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We share this information only with the service provider that delivers our messages, and only as needed to operate the text-message program.
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree to use our services only for their intended purpose and not to interfere with their operation, attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the service, or use the service in a way that violates applicable law.
5. Intellectual Property
The Hidden Skills methodology, including the way we surface, name, and present durable skills, along with our software, content, and brand, is the property of Hidden Skills LLC and is protected by intellectual property laws. Skill reports are provided to each student for their own use. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of our methodology, software, or brand.
6. Privacy
Our handling of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Please review it to understand what we collect and how we use and protect it.
7. Disclaimers
Our services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We work to deliver accurate and useful reports, with a Hidden Skills team member reviewing every report before delivery, but we do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error free, or fit for any particular purpose beyond the one described.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hidden Skills is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount, if any, that was paid for the service giving rise to the claim.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of laws rules.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version and effective date appear at the top of this page. Your continued use of the service after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
